Texture becomes memory.
Light becomes emotion.
Abstraction becomes resonance.
Tamara Thurner explores the relationship between emotion, materiality and perception through the language of abstraction.
Working primarily in large-scale acrylic paintings, she creates layered compositions in which texture, colour and reflective pigments interact to form shifting visual experiences. Light becomes an active element within the work, revealing new depths, contrasts and nuances as the viewer moves through space.
Rather than depicting specific narratives, her paintings invite personal interpretation. Emotion, memory and symbolic associations emerge through the encounter between artwork and viewer, allowing meaning to unfold beyond representation.
Based in Vienna, Tamara Thurner creates original works and selected commissions for private collectors and thoughtfully curated interiors.
